Zak Helme supports the growth and product team at VetraFi.

Before joining VetraFi, Zak founded The Better Veteran, a veteran-focused media and tools company that pairs an editorial newsletter with a suite of free interactive web apps for service members and veterans. He previously co-founded and exited Reliance Leads, a B2B lead generation agency built on custom AI agents and automated workflows, and earlier built proprietary market research products at BWG Strategy that influenced $10M+ in hedge fund investment decisions.

A U.S. Navy veteran and former Cryptologic Technician, Zak served as a Mission Manager of a SIGINT team at the National Security Agency, as a lead ELINT analyst during combat operations over Iraq and Syria, and deployed across the Pacific theater with an expeditionary electronic attack squadron.

He holds a BA from Columbia University and is pursuing his MBA at NYU Stern, where he is a LunaCap Foundation Fellow.

He lives on Florida's Space Coast and enjoys rock climbing, weightlifting, surfing, and global immersion travel.
